Pancytopenia and Pulmonary Tuberculosis: A Case Report

Background: Hematopoietic system is seriously affected by tuberculosis. It exerts a dazzling variety of hematological effects involving both cell lines and plasma components [1]. Anemia leukopenia are not unusual with tuberculosis (TB), but pancytopenia rare [2]. Findings: In this report, we described case 42 years man presenting bleeding pancytopenia; bacteriological pulmonary TB was established genotypic rapid test treatment following the WHO guidelines on drug-sensitive treatment. Patient recovered entirely recommended regimen associated general local bleeding. Conclusion: This report emphasizes importance always suspecting in tuberculosis-endemic area, even when clinical manifestations atypical, like also properly investigating differential diagnosis. Even though prognosis seems to be less good, actual still effective.
